I have been with the school district since 1988. I volunteered my time for Bellevue's sports program before Bellevue and Norwood consolidated. I worked in the kitchen as a substitute cook; in the office as a secretary; made cheerleading outfits for the cheerleaders; and helped coach the girls basketball team for Bellevue. I was hired by Norwood School District in 1989 as a teaching assistant. My children, as well as grandchildren, have all attended Norwood Schools.

I have worked at Norwood Primary school since the fall of 2009. I graduated from Bradley University with a BA in Elmentary Education with a concentration in Spanish. I grew up and was raised in the Peoria area. For as long as I a can remeber, I have wanted to work with children. It is a joy to watch them learn and grow. As A teaching assistant, I am able to work with a variety of students from different grade levels and help them grow in their reading abilities.

In 2009, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies from Bradley University.  After graduation, I moved back to my home town of Chicago where I kept busy as a substitute teacher and YMCA after school care staff.  Then in late 2010, I became a resident of East Peoria, and continued to substitute teach in their district until I was hired as a teaching assistant at Norwood Primary for the 2011-2012 school year.  I enjoy working with the students and the staff here, and hope to have my own classroom one day.
