Dear Norwood Families and Staff: As you have likely have heard, on Friday, July 9 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated their guidance for the operation of K-12 schools in regards to COVID-19 mitigation strategies. The Illinois Department of Public Health was quick to adopt the CDC guidance for the reopening of schools. We will use this updated guidance as we develop our reopening plans for the 2021-22 school year. Thank you for your patience as we begin to review this information and put a formal safe return to school plan in place for August. We will be working to ensure we keep you updated on reopening plans as we near the start of school. A few reminders to note: 1. Online registration is available now via TeacherEase. 2. In-person registration is scheduled for Thursday, July 29. 3. Students return to school on Wednesday, August 18. As we all are aware, this guidance is fluid. As local conditions change, guidance may change as well. We look forward to giving more clarity on our return to school plans in the coming weeks. Until that time, continue to have a restful summer. Sincerely, Jake Flowers, Superintendent
